Regular eye examinations should be a feature of your ongoing health care, not only to ensure the optimum possible level of vision and eye comfort but because they provide a valuable opportunity for the early detection of eye and other health disorders.
Whether free on the NHS or paid for by you, we offer a full eye examination, which includes a pressure test, field screening and other tests, depending on your age, general health and lifestyle.
This examination includes identifying medical problems that can be discovered by an eye examination, such as Diabetes, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, High Blood Pressure and even cancer.
Eye examinations are free on the NHS to the following groups of people;
You are required to bring proof of your entitlement either when you book or when you come for your sight test.
Patients often wonder why the cost of a contact lens examination is greater than that of a regular eye exam. It’s because fitting patients with contact lenses involves several steps and additional time.
If you request contact lenses for the first time, you must have a thorough evaluation to make certain you are a good candidate for wearing contacts. You will be interviewed to determine your individual and personal vision goals. You may only want to wear contacts for sports once per week, or perhaps you’d like to wear them daily for reading and close-up tasks. Because there are so many lens choices, a good Optician will listen closely to your goals and choose the lens that best suits your lifestyle.
We are passionate about screening young children as this is no longer done at most schools, for this reason we offer a full examination which is FREE under the NHS, plus a FREE range of spectacles up to £45.00, which is a greater value than the NHS offers.
In addition to that, you can offset the sum of £45.00 against the cost of any spectacles in our practice, even top-branded designer frames; this includes students who can show us a valid HC2 certificate.
